One of the good things about first moving into a rental home is that everything is so clean. A quality landlord will make it a priority to thoroughly clean every room of the home, from the kitchen to the bathrooms, before move-in day. However, since time and daily use does take its toll on the rooms, even bathrooms that are kept clean fairly regularly will still need a good deep cleaning. To keep your Playa del Ray rental home’s bathrooms sanitary and in good shape, you’ll have to complete a few deep cleaning tasks every few months. This will help keep your bathrooms sparkling clean.
The things that need deep cleaning the most are your tub, shower, and showerhead. Every single one of these areas should be deep cleaned regularly to remove residue buildup and water spots. An effective and easy way to clean any bathroom surface is by mixing a few drops of white vinegar with a cup of baking soda to make a paste. Spread the mixture over the tub or shower door and let it sit for an hour. This gives the solution enough time to do the work. When the hour is up, wipe and rinse it clean. For shower walls, try spraying them with an all-purpose cleaner then let the shower fill with steam by turning the hot water on. Close the shower door and let the cleaner sit for about twenty minutes, then wipe down with a wet sponge or cloth.
Vinegar works great on sinks and showerheads, too. To clean a sink with vinegar, all you have to do is pour out a small amount, scrub, and flush with hot water. To clean a showerhead with white vinegar, fill a bag with it and then place the bag over the showerhead so that the entire fixture is soaking in the vinegar. Secure it down with a rubber band or twist-tie and let sit overnight. The next morning, remove the bag and wipe the showerhead clean.
Another area of the bathroom that should regularly get deep cleaned is the toilet. Even though there are many different toilet cleaners on the market, the best way is to deep clean a toilet is still using baking soda. Simply pour a cup of baking soda into the toilet bowl and let sit for about five minutes. Brush thoroughly with a toilet brush. When you’re finished, flush to rinse the toilet.
If your rental home’s bathroom has tile, you will have to deep clean the grout to avoid bacterial growth. Bleach and a grout brush are the best ways to lighten discolored grout lines and kill anything trying to grow between your tile. To really keep grout watertight, it’s recommended that you reseal it every six months or so to keep moisture and bacteria out. Bleach can also be used to address any mold growing in windowsills or other areas. Prepare the cleaner by mix one part bleach to two parts water and scrub any mold spots with a sponge.
Deep cleaning a bathroom doesn’t need to take up a lot of time and effort, but it’s crucial that you do not forget to do it on a regular basis. Once you have the knowledge of how to deep clean a bathroom the way the pros do it, it’s now easier for you to stay on top of this important maintenance task.
